Grill Master Max and Cedrick

Our fundraising BBQ for Pride was a success and we ended up making back about 75% of our Pride costs. Thanks to everyone who attended, and a special thanks to those who donated money in addition to their ticket cost. I (Mimi) would also like to express my appreciation for everyone on the QAPA steering committee for essentially donation food/dish ware/etc, allowing QAPA to keep most of the proceeds raised by ticket sales and cash contributions.

Big shout out to our man, Max the grill master, and chief contributor of all things meat.

We got to meet a few new people, even some out of towners, and most importantly, we got to spend time with our members. Looking forward to the next event — hopefully it’ll be a little warmer!

Summer Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who came to our BBQ yesterday. The weather was just right for a little outdoor get together. We met several newcomers whom we hope to see again in future events. We had a great day of food, drink, and fine company.

In other news, we have some exciting initiatives in the works, spurred on by our recent steering committee additions. You’ll be hearing more about what’s brewing, as well as meeting the new members directly. Just stand by!

Hello Scantily Clad Summer People!

Summer is quickly drawing to a close, and we’d like to top it off with a backyard BBQ. Everyone is welcome, especially newcomers to QAPA. You don’t have to bring anything, but we do request at minimum a $5 donation to cover the cost of food. All the details can be found on the Yahoo Group listserv. For the sake of privacy, please find the Evite in your Yahoo Groups email and RSVP — we don’t like to post the location of our events on the website if they are at someone’s house.

The BBQ is at Mimi and Diana’s place in Porter Square at 1pm this Saturday (Aug 21). Both meat and vegetarian (but not vegan, sorry!) BBQ fare will be served. See you there!
